Most folks know by now that safe sun exposure is one of the most healthful things you can do for your body. Sun exposure helps increase your body’s own production of Vitamin D—in ways that can’t be replicated by taking a vitamin. Vitamin D is known for it’s role in both immune function AND keeping women’s bones healthy well into our golden years. We don’t, however, want to let ourselves burn.
Here’s my rule of thumb: don’t use sunscreen on a day-to-day basis.
Save it for special occasions like a day in the sun at camp or when you’re at the beach. In that case, protect yourself!
Not all sunscreens are created equal. You’ll want to find one that will protect but not add toxicity to the body. There are many readily available brands on the market that can be purchased at most stores.
