We’re doing this by offering Superbills. The technical definition for a Superbill is:
In English, this means that we provide a form for you to submit to your insurance, along with the insurance company’s own required form. If you’d like to do this by mail, your insurance company will have a document, called a Claim Form that you’ll submit along with the Superbill you receive from us. Here’s an example of BCBS’s claim form but every company will have a slightly different version. You can call your insurance company or simply perform a Google search to find the correct form.
You can also complete this process by uploading your Superbill to your insurance directly through their website. If you’re not sure about how to do this, contact your employer or insurance directly. HealthWorks can provide you with a PDF version of your Superbill for ease and convenience if you choose to submit this way.
The Superbill process is accepted by most insurance companies except Medicare. Unfortunately, as Medicare policies still require patients to have sustained an injury to qualify for care, our services will remain uncovered.
Additionally, Dr. Taylor has put together this video to explain one of our most common questions about Superbills, “Why aren’t all my charges here?” It will probably be no surprise to you that the answer is a little long and complicated… just like everything with insurance. However, we hope that this video can help to explain more about how Superbills work.
While this might sound confusing but we’re here to help! Once you’ve completed the process once we’re confident that you’ll find it manageable. It’s our desire to make your experience here at HealthWorks as convenient and affordable as possible.
